I shared how to wear and pair the trending color, lavender, here, and now I'm styling it! I've been loving this lavender sweater (currently 33% off!) ever since I got it - pairing it with jeans, leggings and even dressing it up with this hunter & mint skirt. I love this color so much because it pairs so well with other colors, but also stands on its own. I don't see any signs of it's popularity stopping! It's a great color to wear now, but also in the coming warmer (thought that seems far away) months.

Fall is a great time to play with color! Rich hues are in, but this season, pastels and bright whites remain. And when you bring the two worlds together, a simple jeans and a sweater feels elevated. I love keeping outfits simple, but in order to keep from looking sloppy (which I'm good at that, too), I like to pair unexpected color combos, great fits and a pop of something.
I'm all about the rainbow sweaters/tops this season - mostly in part to Halogen x Atlantic-Pacific's new collection at Nordstrom. Her collection hits it right on the mark for me. The fun prints, bright colors, rich hues and unique patterns are all I need this season. And these jeans (similar) - my new favorite brand since discovering this pair a couple months ago.

What are your favorite trends, styles and pieces this fall?
This past weekend (well even a lot of last week, during the weekdays) was BONKERS! But in a wonderful, happy, too much laughing, not enough sleep, a little too much drinking, lots of events, and friends everywhere kind of way. That kind of way that reminds me how much slower I bounce back vs. in my twenties... But all I can think now, however, is that the memories made and fun had with this group of people was totally worth it.
My husband and my good friend married this past weekend. And with the occasion, friends and family came to town and we had a houseful of people! This is our college group of friends - and this group knows how to have a blast at a wedding. I joked that we really should rent ourselves out to other weddings as a guaranteed way to get a party started and keep the dance floor alive all night long.
And while the wedding was obviously not about MY dress - I have to mention in as I got several DMs on Instagram after I posted a pic, and I really did love it. My navy, off-the shoulder dress was super comfy, flattering and fun to dance in. It would be a great holiday party and/or work dress, too!
But the dress that was the talk of the night was the gorgeous bride's. I loved the low back and lace details, and her hair was flawless. The whole event took place on their home's property, never to a lake, on lost of land and under a lit tent. You can see some photos from the wonderful night below (taken in between dancing, so not a clear of photos...but you get the point!).

You, by now, are probably inundated by Nordstrom sale item picks by thousands of others, but I just want to throw up a quick post on my favorite items (that I got, already own or have my eye on) incase anyone is interested!
I shop this sale because it truly is really great prices on brand new styles for Fall (Nordstrom always price-matches regularly, so it's a place I can feel good about getting the best prices from). And the new Fall styles will sell out fast during this sale. So I like to get ahead of my Fall shopping with the best, limited time only prices - plus a great return policy if you change your mind after you get your order. That said, you should not shop it if you don't think you need anything!
Those with the Nordstrom card can shop right now (you can also find a nice friend to borrow their log in, and when you check out, you can change the payment to pay with your own any ol' credit card. wink wink). July 19th opens the sale up to everyone, and last year when it was opened up, new items were added - so don't fret!
The first things I look at are the selection of fall/winter shoes and sneakers. These prices are hard to beat for items like those, especially from quality brands (and this year, I'm really craving neutral white/cream shoes!):
Then I move to coats/sweaters (typically more investment pieces):
Activewear is the next place I go to - and every year I've gotten some of my very favorite workout pants!
Other misc. items I shop for are bags, purses, hair and beauty products that I need (like a new hair dryer!):

It's still cold (and snowy), and despite being just about over winter clothing, we got 6 more weeks of it according to Groundhog Phil (is that his name?). I've been turning to a lot of neutrals lately. I think mostly it's a reflection of my mood and my goal to be calmer this year, but I think it's also just been easy. I like mixing different shades of neutrals to make it feel a little more luxe, but also remains easy.
The other key/tip to making neutrals not seem boring, is playing with the textures. I like the rugged jeans matched with the delicate white t-shirt and the long cardigan with ribbing. The cozy teddy bear styled jackets this season has been everywhere - and I love it. This is such a soft coat and the texture adds so much to a look.
Accessories also help bring any outfit all together, especially a more neutral one. I've been into more delicate gold pieces for the last couple of years, but love amplifying that style with these Nickel & Suede gem shaped earrings for this more simple look.
This is a typical work outfit/style for me - since I work at a relatively casual company, but I also wear this on the weekend. It's an easy everyday look with the ability to elevate it as needed - like a white button down shirt under the cardigan if you need to add a bit more professionalism.
