Favorite Wears: We Love KC!

One of my favorite things about this blogging world is the opportunity it has given me to meet other creative folks in the Kansas City area and beyond. I feel so fortunate to have made an abundance of creative friends offline, that I would have never met without this little online space (which is kind of ironic).  That alone has made the effort poured towards this blog so worth it!
Two of those friends are Morgan and Carrie of Ampersand Design Studio, a household name when it comes to design for home, fabric, collaborations with globally known companies and more!  I own several of their prints, and was so honored when they gifted me this locally-made, one-of-a-kind tote; a new product to their fantastic shop. 
I immediately threw all of my stuff in - purse items, kids' needs, work materials - and have carried it around since (if only I had time to get myself to the pool before it's too late, this tote would be great for that, too).  You guys, these totes are handwritten and painted, and are adorned with handmade tassels.  And for all of you in the Kansas City area, you can find this tote (and some other awesome Kansas City-made products) at the new West Elm that opened up on the Plaza today!

Hippie Chic With New Bedding

My navy blue guest bedroom is coming along! With the completion of the walls, I finally got to put to use the bedding I'd already gotten awhile ago!  So little by little this room is coming along and I'll show you little sneak peaks along the way until the grand finale!

It's all pretty  plain still, as there is nothing else in there yet.  Just a pretty made bed and a little new bench I found at a reclaimed furniture store (Liberty Bell) in Kansas City.  But I love the pop of orange so much!  It'll be fun to start putting the rest of the room together.

Inspiration: Chair to Outfit

So a couple days ago I posted about my love for this beautiful chair.


Well I'm still in love with it, but for now it'll just have to serve as an inspiration piece (not sure if husband will let me get this and our living room isn't ready for a chair yet...tears) for a beautiful outfit:

Oh my gosh. I love, adore, need, want this beautiful chair. This would be perfect for my living room that is still coming together!

West Elm Upholstered Slipper Chair

I think a little accent chair is needed for our living room. Something to add a bit of splash to the room. Hubs suggested a recliner. Yikes. We are not there yet, but if he needs that - that is going in the den with the plaid couches!
