Favorite Wears: Winter Wearing Skirts

Staying warm has been my top priority this month when right after the holidays the temperatures plummeted into the negatives (windchill).   About a week in, I finally dug out the remainder of my winter gear (heavier coats, trapper hats, tall boots, etc.).  It's imperative to stock up (or dig out of storage) a few key pieces... like over the knee boots (and coats, and scarves, and yada yada, all the basics here).

For real though. These over-the-knee boots (mine are old, love these + more options at the bottom of this post) allowed me to brave the cold, walking to meet a friend a couple weeks ago when temps were at an all time a monthly low.  They literally saved me from having to wear another pair of pants. I pulled them over fleece lined tights and it was like I was wearing pants vs. just the skirt I was. So, I have hope yet to continue to break out some of my dusty skirts again for the rest of this winter.

Here's a little crap-it's-cold winter outfit for you, featuring a bit of green on green and color blocking, anchored by the boots, all while wearing... a skirt!  This green sweater is part of Downeast's new January arrivals, and if you like anything from their site, you can use the code DAVIES at check out to receive free shipping (now through 1/24).

Are you wearing skirts/dresses this cold winter? How are YOU staying warm?
