Chasing Davies: My Pumpkins at the Pumpkin Patch

My Pumpkins at the Pumpkin Patch

Back when Liam was only 10 months old, we took him to the Johnson Farms pumpkin patch. We didn't realize it was $10 to get in (adult cost, kids under 3 are free) and we had my parents and both my husband and I, so we stuck to grabbing a few of the pre-picked pumpkins that were accessible to anyone.  Liam balanced on all the pumpkins, drooled on some, we grabbed a shot of him in a pumpkin pile (wearing the same hat Nora is wearing here!), we picked out a few pumpkins and then hit up Dunns Cider Mill (near by) for hot apple cider & donuts.  It was all we could really do with a baby at that time.

Fast forward 3 years (!!), new baby Nora is the 10 month old and Liam was ready to get in on that farm-fun action.  They have army and fire trucks, pumpkin canon (this was fun for all ages!), huge jumping pillow, sand-bus, play ground with tubes, corn-mazes for big and little kids and more.  We played first and then took the tractor out to the pumpkin fields for a muddy-good time.

Here are some photos of our fall-fun adventures:

{Wearing his fireman jacket really paid off!  He fit right in on the fire truck they had for all the kids to climb on.  We basically had to bribe him to move on (or we might still be there).}

{Outfit Details: Stripe Poncho - c/o Wallis; Pants - old from Old Navy; Purse - c/o Fossil, last year; Booties; Hat - old from Target; Lips}

{Liam loves these little choo-choo tractor train rides - having rode his first one this past summer at the Farmer's Market.  That one went a bit faster and around it circles, oh, and as Liam pointed out - they got suckers. This time, no suckers and it went a lot slower in just one big loop, but he enjoyed it nonetheless.}

Finally, getting to the actual pumpkin-picking portion of this patch visit. It was fun to have Liam help pick out the pumpkins this year.  He liked the odd shaped and not-your-typical orange colored pumpkins, which I thought was endearing.  He even picked out a special little green one for Nora-bean. :)

{Do you know how hard it is to get two little kiddos smiling and looking the same direction for a photo!?! I mean, this here above is a framer - for sure!}

P.S. You can see last year's pumpkin patching when Nora was still in my tummy, here!
