So I wore this outfit last Friday, but a Friday nonetheless. This is the most comfortable pair of pants I own, more than sweat pants and even yoga pants, if you can believe it! The last time I wore these pants, I used them as swim suit cover ups down at the beach. Keep reading to see how I took them to work (on a Friday)...

An outdoor Fall wedding in a bright dress
This past weekend I went to an absolutely perfect Fall time wedding. There was a new crisp to the air that allowed everyone to (finally) grab a light layer (or borrow their husband's suit jacket). The subtle rustling of leaves as the cool breeze blew was especially lovely as the beautiful couple said their vows under a setting sun.
I choose to wear a bright zigzag dress to the festivities and to dance the night away. Keep reading to see more pics of my outfit and amazing wedding details you'll want to remember for your own (or a friend's) wedding.

Tweet and Go Seek // Plaza Art Fair
The Plaza Art Fair is happening NOW! It started last night, where I was invited to hit up the Time Warner Cable private VIP Lounge with sweet treats and yummy apps from Seasons52. Time Warner is providing free WiFi at the Plaza during the Art Fair and will have a booth set up to show you all of TWC's new and exciting technology (and we all know how much I LOVE tech)!
This free WiFi will come in hand if you are heading to the Art Fair today (Saturday) or tomorrow (Sunday)...make sure you are following @TWCable_KC on Twitter for tweets about where 100 Plaza gift cards ranging from $5 to $100 are hiding! For more info about the first Tweet and Go Seek game in Kansas City, there is a TWC booth on Broadway and TWC employees walking around with t-shirts that say "Free WiFi?! Ask Me!" that can tell you more.
Good luck and have fun!

Fall 2012 Fashion Trends To Try
I've hit on Fall makeup trends to try at home, updating your hair for Fall and after a lot of thought, here are the can't miss fashion styles I think you should incorporate into your wardrobe this season!
Faux leather A-line skirt; Leather-look sleeved top; Faux-leather leggings (under $40!)
Booties: Staple neutral booties (under $50!); Wild chic animal print booties; Black stacked heel booties; Going out, wear with a dress or pant booties in navy with cut outs & sparkle (swoon).
Prints - and mixing them together (does that scare you? little hint to make trying this easy: make sure one color is the same between each printed piece): A dotted blouse; Tribal cardigan sweater; Stripe tote (perfect pop of pattern to any outfit); Leopard loafers (I have these and am obsessed); Printed pants are everywhere right now and can be dressed for work or played with for fun; (wild) Horse print blouse;
The blazer is huge, and so great for layering: White (yes, even for Fall/Winter & wear it straight into Spring) boyfriend blazer; Striped printed blazer ( two-fer!); Plaid printed blazer (from TARGET!); Classic black blazer, but in tuxedo for added interest (under $53!)
Peter Pan Collars are a sweet little must this season, and they are now more than ever easily found (and affordable!): A beaded necklace for a subtle take on the trend; Black dress with white collar; Raspberry blouse under $20; a new spin on a classic white button up with contrast; Grey sweater with contrasting collar; and a detachable collar you can add to any top or dress you already own (comes in lots of patterns and colors)

The blazer that could
Been Facebooking about this blazer awhile now - what an incredible deal this is. It really is a blazer that could work on anyone with any budget! It's only $35, though on sale to $30 currently, and is constructed so well. I usually have troubles with blazers fitting my shoulders and love this fit. Keep reading to see how I wore it and shop this look!

The convergence of fashion & technology
edit: HP contest was updated below. Make sure to scroll down & check out the HP contest for how to vote!
You can’t talk about fashion these days without the underlying theme of technology. The two seem to go hand in hand, and digesting fashion is highly technological these days. Sure, people still covet those fashion magazines and some catalogs that come around once a month, but consumers are able to fulfill their desires for instant gratification and receive content at a much faster pace through constantly improving and evolving technology. At this point, those magazines are just reiterating (albeit in a beautiful way) what we already know.

At this point, those magazines are just reiterating (albeit in a beautiful way) what we already know.
With the rise of visual social networks, such as Pinterest and Instagram, smartphone usage and tablet choices, users demand fashion content at the touch of their fingers. Now more than ever, brands have to take control over their content by pushing it out digitally themselves, or else their consumers will for them. Take New York Fashion Week for example; this year, one third of brands that showed at Lincoln Center live streamed their runway shows (source), making fashion a lot more accessible to anyone with internet connection.
{My favorite Spring 2013 collection by Jason Wu}
Shopping for items is now down much easier within a social context due to Pinterest, blogging and Facebook apps. Sharing is huge, for example – 81% of consumers are influenced by social media posts (source). So while social media users and time spent keeps rising, brands have to keep up. Fashion shopping has to keep evolving to where there customers are to stay top of mind....
And digesting all this now-accessible information has to be fashionable, too… Long are the days of carrying around a bulky computer bag that outweighs you. Technology is as attractive as the things you find with it.

Dressing up an everyday dress
I had been really itching to wear this burgundy dress that I actually bought last year before the big burgundy boom. It's super comfortable, and a little everyday looking, which is fine, but I was headed to an event - the red carpet night of Kansas City Fashion Week and needed to glam it up some. Keep reading to see how (or if) I was able to style this dress up (bare nails and all).

Fall 2012 Hair Trends to Try
I can talk about fashion until I'm blue in the face, and last I touched on Fall makeup trends, so I didn't want to neglect our locks. There are some big trends for surrounding our heads this Fall, and while I was getting my own locks Fall-ready, I got to pick my hair stylist's brain on what is already starting to happen! Here are a three trends you might try:
1. Go Dark(er). Fall fashions are filled with jeweled tones and richer colors, and this year hair is falling in suit. Chocolate, auburn and caramel taking over, strand by strand...
2. Twist it. Try twisting all your hair back into an up do or some of your hair back to add interest instead of braiding (while braids are still acceptable, thank goodness).
3. Pony up. Sleek, pulled back pony tails offer an easy and trendy option, and gets your hair out of your face. You can play with your part, or slick it all back. Place the pony high or low.
For my own Fall hair make over, you've all seen by now, I went dark. I will be playing with different hairstyles all season long and for sure will try the pony and twists!

KC Fashion Week Designer Spotlight on American Trash
One super awesome designer, tons of reused pieces to make a runway full of fabulous eco-friendly completely unique to anything you could ever find elsewhere. And did I mention how fun the designer of American Trash, Karma Jade, is? Let's start with the finale dress and Karma Jade at the end of her show during Kansas City Fashion Week.
I love how rugged and durable her constructed leather bodice of her finale dress is, with fun detailed back, yet so feminine and pretty! And check out Karma Jade's shoes. I posted about them here. She said they are actually comfortable, bonus.
Talk about the designer to get the perfect leather skirt I'm really wanting from... Like her or the brand on Facebook to keep up with this rock n' roll, environmentally friendly designer.

Loot from Fashion's Night Out on The Plaza
See what I wore here.
Did you all do anything in your own cities for Fashion's Night Out (FNO)? I love that we can all live far, but come together for one night of Fashion to support our own communities, and have a little fun! I hit up the Country Club Plaza to shop the night away. I was given $100 to spend, and to see how far I could stretch it! Here is the loot I scored:

After hitting up tons of shop, my purchase scores were from two stores: Gap and H&M
Gap was serving up drinks and had a fun vibe going on - but more importantly were raising money for AIDS awareness. What a great idea to tie this fun night to a cause.
{Gap leopard sweater, H&M grandpa cardigan sweater, navy belt, clutch and ring}
I enjoyed a night with my blogger friends, sips of alcoholic snow cones at HallsKC, mini desserts by Seasons52 at Kate Spade New York and even learning more about a new salon opening up this month on the Plaza...
Parlor: A Beauty Bar will be a great place to get a hair blow out (for those mornings you don't feel like doing it yourself, or before a special event) and other fun pampering. I can't wait to check it out.

Summer brights for the start of Fall
Put on your sunglasses for this post, I'm not holding back on brights here. Going full force into Fall, and totally can't wait for burgundy, navy, black, etc - but certainly won't be hanging up yellow, orange, bright blues, etc for the season. Keep reading to see how I styled this polka dot peplum top & new yellow pleated skirt!

KC Fashion Week Designer Spotlight on Hilary Brown
Fall has barely arrived, yet I'd be down for a quick Spring Break jaunt to the beach to wear one of the amazing swim pieces by Hilary Brown! It is quite amazing to design and construct a well-fitting dress, but it is downright pure talent to do swimwear, and this well...
The talent didn't stop at swimwear though. I was smitten with this white and orange dress, as well as the beautiful, semi-sheer white swimsuit cover up. She could literally construct you an entire vacation wardrobe!
So... who is ready to hit the beach with me? When do we leave?
Again, thanks to InkStudios for the fab pics!

KC Fashion Week Designer Spotlight on SuShe
Ok, for real. One of my absolute favorite looks was in SuShe's collection showed last Friday night that I'm still daydreaming about it today. SuShe by J.Tracey is a custom made clothing designer and completely unique. She is inspired by classics with a fun twist, vintage, but bohemian and haute couture. Work with designer Juantiesha Christian, to get a one of a kind outfit.
Just let the velvety, bright mustard, dreamy dress do the talking...
I just need to figure out how to get my hands on this amazing piece of art (yes, fashion is art).
I also was drawn to her playful side - a shift dress with a twist: spiked shoulders and a fun pattern! The little black dress totally unique - sheer sleeves and a cut out middle add the perfect twist of fun to this classic. There's that burgundy again (Fall's hot color still going strong for Spring), but in a metallic accordion pleat skirt!
Aren't you just drooling? How amazing are her designs? I want to watch this Juantiesha work...
Thank you to the talented Kris Hanke & Daniel Welch for some of the photos in this post!
