Favorite Wears: Fringe Top

A little bit business-y, a little bit party-ish - this is the perfect top to add a little fun for either.  I couldn't stop swinging the fringe around when I wore this outfit out for a couple of work gatherings to celebrate the end of the year.  This might be a good piece to consider wearing for a more casual New Year's Eve happening - and something that you can wear again (even to work!).

And I've already talked these booties up a bit - but I seriously can't stop wearing these wedge booties. I walked my full day's 10,000 steps in these last Friday and they were still comfortable.

What pieces are you particularly excited about in your wardrobe these days?

Favorite Wears: Holiday Look

By now, you might know I have a thing for buffalo check. It's been going on for years and there is no signs of it stopping.  I love it so much so that whilst Christmas and Birthday shopping last month for my littles on Zulily, I saw this super soft and comfy dress in my favorite print and made it mine (along with gifts, too!!).

I actually wore this on Thanksgiving - which I think clothing and pieces in this pattern in red is the perfect Holiday getup.  The dress did all the work, all I had to do was slip on the utmost comfortable wedge-booties that I've been wearing ever since getting them last month.  Not to age myself, but these wedges are made with Orthaheel technology which support your arches.  I can wear these all day and walk a ton in them. So worth it.

{Outfit Details: Dress from Zulily (similar option + more linked to my Instagram!), Wedges c/o, Bracelet - for my Fitbit!}

{It was so awesome having my sister in town over Thanksgiving! We had a fun holiday. My family is all going to be apart for the Christmas holiday, which I'm super sad about. Splitting holidays is hard, man!}

Favorite Wears: Crisp White Blouse for Summer

White blouse summer outfit

Okay, I lied to you a bit. This blouse isn't crisp. In fact, it's a wrinkled mess, and because I'll do anything not to iron (not quite sure we even own one?), I used my blow dryer on hot to try to smooth some of the wrinkles out whilst drying my hair (multi-tasking!). I obviously gave up and went with it anyways.

What's summer without a few wrinkles? And what's summer without a breezy white blouse (shop breezy white blouses)? I love how tan it makes me look, and that it dressed up this floral skirt (that I last wore on the weekend) for work.  I topped the look with a few summer accessories and I love how summery this look felt.

P.S. New summer hair-do.

Favorite Wears: Leopard pants with metallic accessories

I was released from my home and of baby duty last weekend to go out to dinner with one of my very best friends (and quite possibly one of my biggest style inspirations) who was in town.  I wore these leopard pants to celebrate the occasion of getting to see her face, the opportunity to sip on a real margarita and be baby free, for maybe the 2nd time since sweet girl was born (not counting her visits to the gym daycare in which I workout in a room next to it keeping a close eye on her the entire time, nor the couple of times one of my parents has filled in for me so I could go to an appointment or something no fun at all...).

Anyways, back to the pants.  These pants are like pajama pants, so very comfy, I could literally sleep in them (I maybe did).  To keep with that comfy vibe, but still have fun with this "I get to go out" outfit, I put on a sweatshirt, BUT a cute one and well, the jewelry and metallic wedges kinda just tie it all up.

And back to getting to be kid free for an hour and half... So I was ready to have a real adult conversation with my friend who lives a few hours in a plane away with no sweet babies (as much as I love 'em) around, and as we were being seated at our table, we were led directly to a two-fer nestled right up to a large table of two families with like 20 wild kids! (Ok, like maybe 4 or 5 total.) I felt bad, because upon realizing we were going to be practically joining their table, I kinda did a "oh man..." in my head (or maybe just loud enough that my friend heard).  You see, I was leaving my babies behind, which I rarely do these days, for a couple of hours (less!) only to be seated next to other people's kids?  I just wanted a kid-free second.  But those kids were fine and we were at a kid-friendly place!  They were well behaved and after we pulled the table away a bit, it wasn't even a bother.

Do you ever get that feeling?  Like you are paying a babysitter or something and then are surrounded by other kids?  If I'm going to be with other kids, might as well be mine?

Anyways, random - and not a big deal, but just a weird little feeling I had at first.  I was reunited with my littles soon after for a dance party and nail painting session (and now Liam keeps asking with Katie is coming back to visit/play/dance, and I hope it's really soon).

Favorite Wears: White & Grey

Ok, I was super excited to wear this outfit for four reasons.

1. Finally I got an oversized tartan scarf I'd been wanting since late Summer in preparation for this cold weather.  I've been wearing this one since I got it from  my parents for Christmas.  I love how plaid can add a bit of unexpected to any outfit.

2. Everytime I'd find a pleated faux leather skirt I loved, immediately it'd be sold out, at least in my size.  So when I found this a few months ago - I didn't hesitate and snapped it up before it  was gone. (Don't worry, found some really cute similar options for you listed in outfit details below).

3. I will have these wedges is every color/print soon.  I got these metallic ones for myself and a pair of nude ones from my sister-in-law for Christmas.  I love this style of shoe so much.  Early last year I got rid of all my high heels.  They just weren't practical for me anymore and I wasn't wearing many heels.  Wedges are my answer to getting that hight and staying supported and comfortable.  These ones are great.

4. New bag I'd saw during a limited time sale Kate Spade had end of October and wanted!  My mom snatched it up before it was sold out and I got it for Christmas.  I love a good cross-body bag in a great color that will go with everything.

This dress, on repeat.

I'm not a huge fan of mixing brown and black together in an outfit... but I wanted to wear my new favorite dress (again - don't worry, I"ll spare you all the times I'm slipping into this and save only different looks I get from it for here) and my favorite summer wedges for comfort's sake, so I went with it.  I have a hard time mixing just neutrals with no pops of color - so I toted around my bright patterned jacket for the evening to break it all up - but this dress stands alone.  It's comfortable and perfectly unique - thus why it is and will continue to be on repeat this summer.
How do you wear brown and black - or do you avoid?

Buttoned Up

A co-worker and I were discussing this shirt buttoned up all the way adorned with a necklace atop thing, and I'm curious your thoughts?  I dabble with styling my necklace this way vs. leaving my shirt a little less buttoned and wearing a necklace under the collar.

Sometimes I feel like a cowgirl or a little too preppy this way.
How does J.Crew make it look so good?
