Buttoned Up

A co-worker and I were discussing this shirt buttoned up all the way adorned with a necklace atop thing, and I'm curious your thoughts?  I dabble with styling my necklace this way vs. leaving my shirt a little less buttoned and wearing a necklace under the collar.

Sometimes I feel like a cowgirl or a little too preppy this way.
How does J.Crew make it look so good?

Outfit Details: Denim Top - Forever 21 (similar), Skirt - Oldie from Loft (similar), Necklace - Knock off J.Crew from Ebay (similar), Bracelet - Forever21 (similar), Watch - MK, Wedge Sandals - Last summer from TopShop (similar)

Friday Pants!

So I wore this outfit last Friday, but a Friday nonetheless. This is the most comfortable pair of pants I own, more than sweat pants and even yoga pants, if you can believe it! The last time I wore these pants, I used them as swim suit cover ups down at the beach. Keep reading to see how I took them to work (on a Friday)...

An Easy Combo

{Dress - Cynthia Rowley/Marshalls (similar); Cardi - J.Crew (similar); Leopard Belt - J.Crew (similar); Wedges - TopShop}

Right now, I think I could pair mint with almost any color and make an outfit less ordinary.  Not ordinary is my only goal when getting ready for work these days.  Sleep deprivation is a funny thing.  I can go 5 days in a row getting less than 6 hours of broken up sleep, then one glorious night comes along and the baby sleeps for 10 solid, self-soothing hours, and I sleep for at least 7 pretty solid hours.

The funny thing on these rarer nights, well two funny things - I wake up several times just because I'm used to waking.  I take a look at the little guy on our video monitor (thank goodness for this thing), watch his breath and awe over his sweet face, then go back to sleep. Repeat.  Then the next day, I should feel refreshed when the baby sleep past 7am. But I find myself feeling more tired after these nights than the sleep deprived ones.

I'm not sure why it works that way - but I compare this situation to chocolate.  Get a little, want a lot.

Investing in shoes I can walk in...

This is hard for me to admit, but the days of wearing high heels are pretty numbered.  As I complained about last week when attempting to wear a pair, my knees can't take it. Blame it on post-pregnancy body, age, and/or bad knee genetics, but I'm listening to my body and moving on...

This means two things.
I'm going to have a heel sale for all of you who can still wear 'em (jealous). Stay tune on that. I'll be putting up my never to lightly worn/still in good condition heels for sale for first come first serve (sizes 8 to 9).

Second, I need to invest in some good flats and wedges to replace my loss. I've been wearing my current selection into the ground  (i.e. these and these, oh starting to wear these a lot, too).

So I'm thinking...
Wedges (come in black, too)

Flats with a hint of pink

Ankle Strap Flats

Then I was thinking something fun, like these...
Bright Wedges or/and Low Heeled Sandals, also cute in raspberry

Do you have any recommendations on CUTE, yet comfy kicks??  I'd love to hear!
