Favorite Blogger Outfit: Summer Cool

I love crisp white in the summer - the best color to wear in any way.  It makes any color pop against it.  Kim from Anthroholic's crisp white cropped pants and pretty gray tank top have me digging out my own white cropped pants to don.

I also love her chic accessories - that hat is adorable.  She looks like she is ready for a fun-filled summer day. :)

Carrie Bradshaw's Dress Look-a-Like's

I'm still in admiration over the clothes and stylings worn by Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda in SATC 2.  I'm still trying to find certain movie photos of some of my favorites - but here's what I've found so far!

On another note, I loved the movie!!  Amazing!

Carrie's swinging-style dresses:

What perfect summer dresses!  Go Jane has 2 very similar (short) styles in several fun colors (like Carrie's purple dress and long coral dress):

Shoe of the Day: Ankle Bows

These are cool.  Really interesting and different - I love them!

I wander if my ankles would get hot...?

Dress for Less: Sequin Stripe Tee

Stripeful-lust continues...Last week I included an adorable Samantha Striped Tee in a post, but at the $385 price tag, it's not coming to a closet near me any time soon.  I was very excited to find a just as adorable, a lot less pricey tee, that I think will make a permanent stop in my closet:

Biggest Loser has Winning Fashion-Sense

So I just got caught up on the Biggest Loser finale (aired Tuesday 5/25) and besides being so proud of all the contestants for their weight loss, was also in awww of the great outfits!  My Favs:

First, host Alison Sweeney wore an amazing red dress by Giambattista Valli.
I, sadly, can't find this dress anywhere online!
For a similar option:
Melissa Masse - Banded Sheath Dress

Cherita's super cute one-shoulder royal blue dress.  She lost all her weight at home - on her own.  She was never actually on the show. Similar style dress:
Laila Azhar One-Shoulder Twist Dress

Stephanie not only lost a ton of weight, but also found love in fellow-contestant Sam.
Love her gold top/black bottom dress.  Expensive similar style here:
Camilla and Marc Cinder Corset Dress

Ashley came in second and rocks a mix of hot pink and red - love this combo!
For a similar look, mix a pink top with red skirt:
Nanette Lepore Starfish Cami with Forever21 Satin Bow Skirt

And not to forget the dudes!  Check out Koli (love him!):
Love his salmon pants!

SATC 2 is Here!

The wait is over!  I'm ready to see the glitz and glamour these ladies exude.  I'm ready to catch up with the them.  I'm so ready.  Tomorrow night I'm off to celebrate a birthday Sex and the City style - drinks, shoes, girlfriends and then...the movie.  Can't wait.  When will you see the movie?

And what will you be wearing?

Shoe of the Day: Kate Spade Sale

Loving these beautiful, arty heels and they are part of Kate Spade's 25% off all sale items going on now through June 1st!

Christa Kate Spade Heel on sale for $221 + additional 25% off and Free Shipping

To the Max

It's maxi time in this city - the perfect work-wear.   A comfy, loose fitting dress, but enough fabric to keep me from freezing from the arctic temps my office is kept at with the air conditioner.  When it gets hotter outside, it only gets colder inside my place of work...

Key to this, layers... and maxi dresses.

Outfit Deets:
Maxi dress - Old Navy last summer
Navy Cardi - J.Crew
Bow Belt - Ann Taylor Loft
Gold Sandals - Target last summer

Banana Republic Turquoise Bling

Last week I journeyed to my nearest Banana Republic store to find the turquoise necklace that graced the necks of the BR models, but could not find available for purchase online.  I was excited to see that my store had them in stock for sale!  I was even more lucky to have gotten it 30% off...

I intend to wear mine necklace with a similar colored dress I have soon... but this time around, I wore it this way:

With a splash of pink...

Favorite Blogger Outfits: Innovative

Christine from My Style Pill constantly shares with us her innovated ways to mix and match her wardrobe pieces WITHOUT having to spend a ton each week or buy expensive designer duds.  She shows us a way to dress that is truly creative & innovative and not just how to open our wallets...Including this outfit that I'm totally going to copy (with clothes I already own):

Love the dress peeking out from the skirt.  A fitted, slightly longer dress can make a slightly too-short skirt more wearable.  I love the unexpected look here.  Something anyone can recreate with their own pieces.

Outfit Deets:
hat: f21
necklace: fred flare
striped dress: H&M
skirt: f21
belt: thrifted

Mirror Mirror (Not Yet) On the Wall

Hello lovely readers!!  I need your stylish, good-taste, 3rd party advice in the home decorating front.

I picked up this super low-cost wall mirror at Burlington Coat Factory a week or so ago, and I think it works perfect for the gray painted hallway with it's yellow, gray and white design:

What do you think?  Is it too girly? country? ugly?  Seriously, I can take it!  Tell me what you think of this mirror.  My hubs is not a fan...  And I can't see his point of view...

I thought it was be great here:

Well, hung on the wall, not sitting on the floor of course.  But on this big wall in the open space of the hallway.  Then eventually, maybe a little table underneath for a catch-all?

So what do you think?  Keep the mirror or scrap it and find something else?

Thank you for your advice, whatever it may be...

I have my eye on:

Shoe of the Day - Nude AND Metallic Heels

Nude shoes, whether they're heels, sandals or flats are definitely in right now.  A go-with-anything shoe that can extend your legs for days.

And these Seychelles Card Shark heels have an added bonus - a touch of metallic:

And on another note - if you ever buy anything online, you should definitely have an Ebates account.  I'm sure you've heard of this from other blogs or elsewhere - but now you can hear my review.  I signed up for an account (FREE) a couple months ago, and then every time I want to buy something online, I follow these simple steps:

First sign in to my Ebates account
Search for the site via their search bar
Click on the "Shop Now" link next to searched site
It opens a new browser to shop and buy away

So what is the benefit?  Buy following these steps, you accrue cash back!  For instance, right now, you can get 11% cash back on purchases from Piperlime.  The cash back percentages change day to day, store to store.  Before you can start getting money back on things you were ALREADY going to buy...you need to sign up for an account! Sign up here.

Right now Ebates is celebrating their 11th Birthday by offering 11% cash back on many stores, like Gap stores, Sephora, Macy's, Ann Taylor, and more.

And like you need even more incentive...sign up now and you'll get $5 right away. Easy-peasy.  So, like I said, I've been using for a couple months and already got a check for $20.  AKA, I shop too much.  But $20 for buying what I was already going to buy for no extra work or hassle - I'll take it.  Give it a whirl!

Favorite Blogger Outfit: Layer-Licious

Super cute Amy never disappoints with inspiring and adorable outfit-of-the-day posts.  This particular outfit struck me because I LOVE layering - it's an art!  And Kelinda.KELINDA shows us a great way to do it.  This outfit works for any season, work or otherwise and any part of the day:

I love how she layers a bright orange belt for a pop of color over her bow-tie shirt. All the colors in her outfit are different, yet work so well together for a unique look.  I love it!

Outfit deets:
bow neck top, ann taylor loft
ringspun cardigan, j.crew
double serge pencil skirt, j.crew
snakeskin elly criss cross wedge flats, cole haan

Pretty, but worth it? Anthro's Speckled Ink Dress

I've been eying Anthro's Speckled Ink dress since it came out. Thinking this would be such a lovely summer wedding dress...

I finally got in store to try in on.

While I love the fabric (simple t-shirt-like), the unique top and the comfort of the dress, I just don't think it was worth the price tab of $158.  Maybe it'll go on sale soon?  Not sure at what price I'll think it's worth it...

For now, still on the hunt for a pretty summer wedding attendee dress.

Dress for Less: Floral Blouse

Pretty florals for summer (and paired with stripes is my favorite way to wear 'em, a la here, and here, oh and here...) is a must!  I love both of these floral blouses:

Both very similar in cut and style, though one is $178 and the other is $20.  A real dress for less option, and one you probably recognize from many posts (including mine)!

Happy Friday!  Have a fabulous weekend everyone!
