Favorite Wears: Off the Shoulder

This has been the summer of the bare should, and I have dabbled a bit in the trend, too. I specifically like the look with a loose and flowy body to offset the uncovered skin atop. This is the perfect weekend top, and I even have this bare-shoulder dress coming my way for a wedding guest dress option later this summer.

But what do you think about wearing this kind of top to work? I work at a casual, creative place - and I've seen many of this style there.
Are you wearing the off the shoulder trend? Curious how you've styled it or particular tops you're loving!

Family Travel: Pirate Ship Playground in Vail

Vail Village Pirate Ship Playground

We found Vail, CO to be super family friendly on our vacation earlier this month. Of course having the most perfect weather, we spent most of the time outside.  Each of the little Vail areas, like Vail Village and Lionshead Village had shops, restaurants, wide open paths and squares to run around in, and great playgrounds for the kids to climb on!

This pirate ship playground was a huge hit with my kiddos.  Located in Vail Village - on the back side, near the Gondola, it was the perfect stop before dinner to get all the energy out.  This set up had everything - a dragon, cockboat, bow-spirit, lookout mast, portholes, climbing walls, nets, etc!  Even as an adult it was fun to see and watch the kids all play. Plus, the park is surrounded by trees and mountains, as everything in this area, so a wonderful place to sit back and chill while the kids played.

You can see one of our nights in Vail Village here!
More of our family vacation in Vail coming soon!

Mamas & Minis Collective: Comfortable Summer Jumpsuits

Comfortable Summer Jumpsuits Rompers for Mama and Toddler

I'm still not sure how I feel about one-pieces on me personally (I've seen other adult women look awesome in them)... mostly they just don't work on my body shape I don't think, but every once and awhile I find one that kind of works (like I love this fancier one I've worn for cocktail parties).  This one today is more about comfort and is the perfect weekend play attire. I love it because I can move all around without worry, and heck - I can sleep in it even because it's so comfortable. I also love that you can layer it to change up how it looks.

Nora has been living in rompers this summer. It's easy for me, too, because I don't have to worry about her matching her bottoms to her top (which they typically don't).  And she is free to be her wild self.  She wore this one throughout vacation, too. So easy to pack, throw on and go!

HOT summer weekends are all about comfort and ease these days.  We're in the hottest part of the summer here in Kansas City (high 90s!), and I just want loose and breezy (though all this black in the sun... ouch!).  You can see some pics of us below dancing (yes, that's what that is...) and the is my favorite part about being comfortable - freedom to move! :)

Our Outfit Details: MAMA - Jumpsuit (sold out - but similar), Black Shirt, Bag (via this shop, similar option here & more below) and Sunnies; NORA - Romper (similar) and Sunnies (gift - but similar)

Make sure to check out Carly to see a great red jumpsuit option, Sandy for her mama/mini romper & jumpsuit looks, and Laura is also rocking the jumpsuit/romper today!

Do you have a favorite jumpsuit style for you?

Favorite Wears: Pink Dress in Colorado

I wore this dress (on sale!) and these shoes (blast from the past, upgraded) throughout my Colorado family vacation last week.  It was the perfect swing one complete piece I could throw on and go.  Dress it up or down, though I wore it mostly dressed down since I was in Colorado...

My family (my parents, sister, husband and kiddos) and I went to Vail, CO over the 4th of July holiday week and then my husband, kids and I ended the week in Denver (where my sister lives), visiting some friends.  I love Colorado in the summer, and we come often - but this was my first time to Vail (holy smokes, sooo pretty).  It was such a nice place to come with kids, too, which I was surprised about.

I'll share more about what we did throughout our trip in a separate post to come soon, but wanted to share some photos of the night we celebrated my mom's big 60th birthday!  We went to dinner in Vail Village at Vendetta's (Italian restaurant) which was so good.  We walked around this adorable village (as we did most nights) both before and after dinner. The weather was so perfect, the kids loved all the fountains and statues, and I loved the flowers that were everywhere.

It must have been all that pure mountain air, but this particular night (and really the whole trip!), the kids were nuts! Nora was hilariously dancing around the Village like a wild child.  They just had so much energy, and had so much fun (and got way off of any sort of normal sleep schedule that we're still working to get back on...).  You can see proof of some of this behavior below, and more pictures of my current favorite dress. :)

You can see our summer Colorado trip to Estes Park 2 years ago here, and to Breckenridge 3 years ago here!  Without kids (when I was pregnant with Nora), we went to my good friend's most beautiful wedding in Steamboat Springs.

Favorite Wears: Summer Work Wear

This particular Monday is going to be brutal. Coming off of a week long vacation, over a holiday, with two young kids on the road, and a ton going on back at work (is there ever a good time to take a vacation??), I know I'm going to pay for it today.

But, vacation is always worth it - especially family trips. As happy I am to get my kids back on a schedule (and to not share a room with them), I enjoyed the extra time with them - especially experiencing new things.  My own family was also with us (my mom, dad and sister), which helped a ton (more adults to kids is always the way to go), but it was wonderful spending lots of quality time with them, too.  I'll have more on our trip coming up soon!

So, now as I wash all my vacation clothes, I'm sharing a favorite summer work look here today.  I could wear white for every occasion all summer long (except a wedding of course...), and I love this more professional looking style for the office. This particular dress is sold out, but sharing several similar and cute options below!

Shop this look:

P.S. tip to wearing undergarments under white - you actually want to wear nude colored ones, and not white. White on white actually can show through, but nude blends right in. This is my favorite nude bra!
