Favorite Wears: Camo & Coffee Post- Daylight Savings

Woof. Missing just one hour from this past weekend made for a brutal Monday.  Our whole family's sleep schedules were off, and I felt like I missed out on a half of a day vs. just one hour.  After peeling myself, then each of my kids out of bed yesterday morning, I downed coffee and succeeded through my day. Leaving work is when the payoff of the lost hour is realized.

Light.

The light of Spring makes it all worth it. Leaving work in the daylight and more time to play outside after work/school makes us all feel a little better.

I've been relying a bit more on my Olly Sleep vitamins at night to kick start my sleepiness an hour earlier than it technically feels like. I'm already a night owl, so skipping ahead an hour messes with me longer than in the Fall when we lose an hour. I could easily be up until 1:30am right now.

How was your one-hour shorter weekend? Do you have any tips for adjusting to the time change?

Five trends for fall you need to try!

These five trends are getting me excited for the temps to drop and fall to really get here (weather-wise).  Preggo or not, I'll be giving each of these five trends a try and rotating into my current fall/winter wardrobe.  I have to admit, it'll probably be a little more fun to don these looks sans giant baby bump (post-November), but a girl has to do what she's gotta do for the time being.  In my opinion, one of the best things about a new season is switching up the closet routine and stretching your creativity.
So, here are my favorite five trends for the new season!  What are yours?

1. Camo
Camo and military styles started popping up last fall and have been picking up steam to be in just about every store and available by every brand you can imagine!  So if you haven't tried out this trend yet, this is the time to do it! My favorite thing about military style is how surprisingly easy and fun it is to mix with extra feminine or chic pieces for a contrasting or polished look.  A few of my favorite camo & military pieces:

2. Plaid
You can't ever get away from plaid, especially for cooler months, it's just the perfect pattern to rotate in as the temperatures drop.  Add a plaid shirt to your basic jean for the weekend, under your favorite suit or blazer for work or tucked into your favorite party skirt (like a sequined one!) with heels.  Experiment with other plaid pieces, too! Some of my favorite plaid pieces available right now:
3. Leather Details
Not everyone can wear full-on leather pants (faux or the real deal), nor does everyone have/want to spend that kinda cash on the piece, but getting pieces with leather details is way more doable and super chic.

4. Metallic Oxfords & Punchy Loafers
I've already fallen for this trend, and fallen hard! I love my metallic oxfords and have worn them many times already (see here and via Instagram captures here and here - pay no attention to the preggo swollen ankles). You're sure to seen them a bit more here on the blog and on Instagram.
5. Sporty Pieces
This might be the most comfortable trend ever  I mean, trading in the heels for sneakers or dressing up sweat pants? Count me in.  Bad hair day? Top it off with a baseball hat. Lots of ways to add a little sporty into your look - just make sure to balance the sporty with the chic/girly so you don't look like a slob. :)  Here are a few sporty pieces to add into your style:

Trying something new... with camo print

Ok, so I know this print isn't for everyone and a lot of you might not like it. But it was kinda calling my name and I just felt I had to at least try it.  Then I found this over-sized jacket on sale for $16 at Old Navy, and with an additional promo going on, I just couldn't resist... you understand, right?  So keep reading to see how I styled this new-to-me print!
