HGTV Designer Extraordinaire, Dear Genevieve

The star of HGTV's namesake show, Dear Genevieve and judge on Design Star, Genevieve Gorder attended the Signature Home event last Thursday night.  It was so fun to meet here and have her in Kansas City! Today on Friday Fancies, in honor of World AIDS Day (yesterday) we are bringing out the red.  Here are some fashionably inspi(red) outfits from very red to a pop of red and in perfect time to celebrate the holidays!

Cameron Diaz in an all red dress, balances her look with nude heels!

Getting on the Trend-Wagon: Skinny Cargos

With my Loft spree, among many other things, I picked up some fitted skinny cargos...  I wasn't sure how I felt about this trend when I started seeing all the celebs wear this look all summer, but these pants are comfy!

How the celebs rock the look:

Kim Kardashian, Jessica Alba, Leighton Meester and Rachel Bilson are among the celebs.  One thing in common - wearing them with heels!

So I pulled on my new pair of pants, sequin striped J.Crew top, and of course, heels (from last year, Kohl's):

Mine are not nearly as fitted, and actually loose.  But that's more my lifestyle, and the way Loft pants tend to fit (big).  I hope to wash and shrink them a little...

Runway Trends and Inspirations: Warm Sequins

For Fall, I can't wait to get my hands on one thing in particular.  A coppery, gold or bronze sequin something.  This perfect-for-Fall shimmery trend has made it's way from the Runway:

Madonna's Material Girl Fashion Line

Have you heard about Madonna's fashion line, named after herself, of course, Material Girl?  Announced early March, the launch of the clothing line (available exclusively at Macy's) is near, coming to stores August 3rd!  It is reported that her daughter helped design some of the pieces, and that it's a bit too-80s crazed.

Gossip Girl's Taylor Momsen is the face of the fashion line.

While this line seems to be a little too 80s-heavy for me, the prices and a few pieces have peaked my interest enough for me to at least check out come 8/3/10!

The July 12th issue of US Weekly had a blurb on the line (pg. 67), and this gray blazer with yellow lining caught my eye, and it's only $34 price tag:

Sarah Jessica Parker's birthday is TODAY!  She is one of my most favorite actresses (Sex and the City is my favorite thing ever), and fashion inspiration (even though our body types are not at all the same).

Favorite Oscar Trends for the Real World
