Jenny Craig Updates + Floral Bomber Jacket

Thank you Jenny Craig for sponsoring this post. -- Get serious about losing weight with Jenny Craig!

It's been almost 8 weeks since I've been on the Jenny Craig Anywhere program - and while it's been a lot easier than I thought, there have definitely been some challenges and learnings along the way.  Furthermore, due to my crazy travel schedule these first few months of the year, there have been some abbreviations to my plan - but that's real life, right?

Thankfully, I have had the support of a dedicated, personal consultant to help me navigate my travels, where I'm mostly eating out and straying from my Jenny menu.  It's nice being on a food-provided plan, because when I'm home, I don't have to think about what to eat or making food for myself. I eat the food I receive, a mixture of frozen/packaged meals for every meal that are easy to take to work, as well as protein snacks (bars, shakes), and supplement with my own purchased fresh produce (lots of veggies and fruits) and yogurt.

Jenny Craig has more than 100 menu items, where 40 professional chefs make all the difference - including dessert!  Following the plan is pretty easy - the hardest parts for me was stopping the mindless snacking and eating on a schedule throughout the day when my days are always so chaotic...

Some of the meals I can even take with me when I travel - which has been very handy when on a long flight!  And I always keep the protein bars in my bag for emergencies or a quick snack while walking to my next meeting.  And when I know I'm going to be eating out, my personal consultant has helped me navigate restaurant menus/offerings, so I don't feel like I have to hide from life.

Overall, I'm down 8* pounds so far. Not every day is a success, and I'm not losing weight as quickly as I could if was completely avoiding eating out and drinking, but it's about a balance for me. I'm continuing on the meal plan for a few more weeks, and then will start to make my own meals, tracking the nutrients on my own, which will be a new learning curve. But also, I'm really concentrating on getting more workouts in. Not worrying so much about having a full hour, and taking any 20-30 minute chunk I have to squeeze in at least something!

*Results not typical. Members following the Jenny Craig program, on average, lose 1-2 lbs. per week. I received promotional consideration

My favorite travel lunch is the Jenny Craig Chicken Cranberry Salad Kit - easy to eat on the go, even comes with a little spoon! :)  I've been eating these on my plane rides over meal times.  And then bringing the Jenny Craig milkshakes (I love both the vanilla and chocolate) with me to work or on the go in the mornings - the perfect mid-morning snack, or even drinking first thing in the morning when I know I won't get to breakfast right away.

I love almost all the breakfast meals - I love breakfast, but their selection and variety is spot-on. And I have been pleasantly surprised at the overall food selections and meals. Everything from mac & cheese to chinese food, to enchiladas and pasta. I can mimic what my family is eating pretty easily, and satisfy cravings. My favorite lunch/dinner meal right now is the Asian Style Chicken, which I eat in lettuce wraps.

No matter the meal, I always add in a ton of veggies to keep my big appetite under a bit more control.
