The SIX Items you Need for Fall/Winter!

While many might dread the upcoming cooler months - I love them from a fashion standpoint. There is just so much more you can do with layers and more fabric!  But it can also be more expensive - so many more items to buy just to stay warm, let alone fashionable and on trend.

So, I'm excited to share that I've rounded up SIX of the ultimate must-haves to get you through both Fall and Winter (and even beyond in some cases), and shared in my very first eBay guide which you can check out right here!

And, just for you, here is a little sneak peak of two of the six items I share within my eBay guide, which also includes links to super affordable options to help you save some money while updating your Fall/Winter wardrobes!  Happy Shopping!

What are YOUR Fall/Winter wardrobe must-haves? I'd love to know what you think of my suggestions if you'd like to share in the comments below.

Favorite Wears: Made in KC!

If you aren't from the KC area (or NYC or baseball fans, for that matter) these KC-inspired looks might be getting a bit old for you... but I try to keep it real here. No photoshoots of outfits I don't actually wear, no fake situations for a photo only. And blue and/or KC-themed items has been on rotation this blue-October (we're in the World Series, in case that wasn't clear).

So, if you are a Royals fan - this if for you! If you aren't, this is still for you: no matter what team you root for or what sport you follow - there are ways you can dress sporty and show support for your team, but still get on with your life (like go to work...).

Even my new rain/wind/cooler weather jacket is the perfect shade of royal (navy) blue! Oh, and the kids are totally joining in on these KC/blue looks!

Outfit Details: HatMade in KC shirts (mine & the kids) c/o;  Blue Rain Jacket c/o; Skirt - old from Loft (similar here, here and in black here); Sneakers - old, similarKC Ring Necklace c/o}

Mama/Daughter Style Series: Fall Boho Style

Hi from California! We're on vacation (that feels less like a vacation since we're dealing with two toddler's schedule changes...oy.) visiting family and friends, and loving the less-buggy filled nights that allow for the doors and windows to be left wide open all night long.  It is also the perfect backdrop and inspiration for our fall-like boho style, featuring baby bellbottoms. Yep, that's right. <squeal>

As you might know by now, my monthly mama/daughter style series with Carly, Sandy and Laura feature fun looks that are both mama and daughter friendly - with a little bit of matchy-matchy (but not embarrassingly so I don't think - as I'm pretty sure my husband would have told me that long ago). This week, we are styling this black and white print, super soft fabric mama kimono and toddler bellbottoms by Kapri Couture!

And of course, no boho look is complete without this season's oh-so hot piece of fringe! Fringe + my all-time favorite fall into winter into spring piece, the bootie = perfection! These fringe booties from Cents of Style are so fun to wear - and I've been wearing them non-stop (also were the only non-sneaker shoes I brought on my trip to CA! Trying to pack lighter when traveling these days...).

Our Outfit Details: MAMA // Boho Fringe Kimono c/o, Dress - oldie from Loft, Booties c/o; NORA // Shirt - hand-me-down, Bell Bottoms c/o, Moccasins c/o}

Make sure to check out the other mama's to see how they and their littles are wearing boho this fall: Carly, Sandy and Laura And don't forget to check out the #MamaDaughterStyleSeries on Instagram and play along by posting your own picture of your own favorite looks, use the hashtag and tag me (@ChasingDavies) so I can check it out!

Chasing Davies x Country Club Plaza: Take the Crown!

I was shopping for a few new pieces of blue to get ready for the whole new (WORLD) series and grabbing lunch at the new t.Loft on the Country Club Plaza last week with a friend, and it was like no one had jobs! So many people wandering the Plaza streets and shops, covered in blue and filled with smiles from ear to ear.

How about this baseball team!? Honestly for me, the most exciting part is the way the Royals bring the community together!  Kansas City has been an AWESOME place to live (most of my life) with a lot of amazing sports (hello!) and culture things happening, but somehow the city has escalated even further - it's like a freaking Disney movie!

So, when I needed to grab a new shirt and wanted to join the happy people of KC, being on the Plaza is especially fun. As you know, this area of Kansas City is my go-to and special to me, and it is even more evident during times like this why I love the Plaza and KC so much!

I hit up Tulip, a women's boutique on 48th St, that has tons of super cute fall clothing, and now a bunch of cute Royals gear, too. I picked out this "All About That Base" baseball styled tee and immediately styled it for work!

In other news,  t.Loft...because I've been waiting for this place to open for months! So.Excited. They have a couple of other locations around the Kanas City metro, so you maybe have heard of them. But if not - they are a super healthy cafe offering juices, smoothies, breakfast bowls, salads, protein balls and other foods/snacks!

A friend and I had lunch there last week and the inside of the store is beautiful!  And bigger than their other locations, so lots of room to go with a group of friends for a quick bite or hang a bit longer.  We tried their sunrise bowl (egg based with lots of veggies) and PB&J oat bowl (oatmeal based).  Obviously had a craving for breakfast. :) Both were really good!  We also enjoyed a smoothie and tea - yum.

I think, if you ever needed an excuse, now is the time to wear athleisure to work, around town, out to dinner and beyond for the rest of October!  Pair some Athleta leggings/tights with sneakers, Royals tee and a vest or jacket and you have yourself a casual athleisure look!

I am especially LOVING Athleta's new pants for Fall - and picked up a high-waisted pair that includes blue, duh.  And I'm wishing I also got those multi-colored ones below... They also have a great blue vest (see below) you could grab if you're going to be heading to a game!

{From left to right: 1, 2, 3}
Time to get dressed in your blue and go join the smiling, happy people on the Plaza! :)

Pumpkin Patch + a Freshly Picked Mocc Giveaway!

I just love all there is to do in the fall!  So many festive outdoorsy things, and it's a good thing because my kiddos love being outside.  We use fall as a time to explore - hitting up some of our old favorites and trying new things, too.  After having so much fun at Johnson Farms in Kansas City (a larger pumpkin patch with tons of other kid-friendly activities) last year, we had to hit it up again this year.  Plus, it's right next to Dunn's Cider Mill - so we always have to stop for hot apple cider and donuts, too! Duh!

And you know what else fall brings out? Our favorite baby into toddler shoes!  While you can definitely wear Freshly Picked Moccasins all year around, Nora's stinky feet took a mocc break over the summer for open sandals. Slipping these new moccs in the next size up (she has owned now 4 pairs in 4 different sizes!) on her for our weekend adventure on a cooler day was a zip. I love how easy they go on and love even more that they are comfortable for Nora and protect her feet, while promoting a healthy foot development!

So, scroll on down through our family adventure at the pumpkin patch to get to a special giveaway! One reader will win their choice of Freshly Picked Moccasins! Wahoo!

{Peek-a-boo! Do you see Nora?}

This year, the farm had pigs (and other farm animals - but who could see past the piglets?!?!).  They had 1 and 8 week old piglets (no pictures of them, their beds were dark with heat lamps) and older ones outside that raced!  They were all so cute and my kids definitely loved them!

 I just adore these sweet little purpley-pink ones for Nora's fall and winter (and into spring!) looks.  Her last pair were champagne, the pair before that were yellow (see here in those here) and her first pair was ice blue (see her as a baby in those here)!

Now I hope one of you will make some memories in a pair of your choice: the GIVEAWAY! Freshly Picked has graciously offered to giveaway one pair of winner's color choice! I can't wait to see how you style your moccasins and what color you select!

Please read the following disclaimer: The winner can not have won any other giveaway that included a pair of Freshly Picked moccasins within the last 60 days (they will check before fulfilling your order). If you reside outside of the United State, you will need to pay shipping on your win.

a Rafflecopter giveaway

See our pumpkin patch visit two years ago (when I was pregnant with Nora and Liam was Nora's age now! He had so much more hair than her at this age, and he just seemed older...so weird!).
