Anything but Boring Neutrals for Fall

I've always been drawn to styling bright colors and mixing them together (a la pink and orange here), but this season I've been drawn to the neutral side a bit more often.  Having always been a neutral print lover (leopard, stripes, oh my!), I quickly have discovered even more ways to jazz up neutrals and despite my previous notions on the earthy tones, styling in this hue-range can actually be quite luxe and interesting (as with brights and colors).

There are four easy ways you can make sure your neutrals are still interesting and have fun with your outfit.  Here are my neutral picks that are anything but boring:

Interesting Cuts/Embellishments:
The Cape
Side-Zipper Sweater

Textures:
Leather Skirt
Sneakers
Faux-Fur Vest

Metallic:
Sweater Cardigan
Silk Gold Blouse

Neutral Prints:
Checker Coat
Leopard Sweater
Stripe Tunic

Let's say you're wearing jeans and a white tee (everyone has those!).  Add a sweater cardigan with a hint of metallic and textured leather sneakers to jazz it up.

Swap your basic black jacket/coat for a black and white check (or another pattern) coat to add interest to any outfit (still working with the most basic colors possible, so it goes with anything).

When piecing together an outfit, mix different textures together - like leather and faux-fur to instantly add interest.

Swap traditional clothing shapes with vintage or modern styles, like a grey crew-neck for a cape or a sweater wit zipper detail added to add style versatile.

See how easy it can be with little changes or swaps?  What neutral pieces are you loving that are NOT boring at all?
