Spring time work wear outfit {from Mexico}

Last week my husband and I took a quick trip to Mexico. I was invited for a big conference, so it was a trip full of work and play - and just in the nick of time, as Kansas City got their first massive blizzard dumping 14 inches of snow all around town.

Because my trip included a little work - I packed a little beachy, warm weather inspired work appropriate outfit along with my swimsuit and sundresses. This all white with a military vest accent outfit did the trick and I can't wait to wear it again once if ever Kansas City quits snowing and gets warm.

Snowed in

 If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter, you might have figured out this girl wasn't in Kansas anymore (Toto?).  I took a quick jaunt down to Mexico for a work conference I was invited to (and paid for by) and got to bring along my hubs.  The trip definitely held true to the ol' saying, work hard, play hard. And then I came home too snow. Lots of snow. Which, from above, it's quite beautiful.

Down below it's kinda pretty, too, but not very conducive to getting around and catching up on life post being gone for 4 days (+ 2 before that for a different work trip). And as if the 14 inches we got last week wasn't enough... #KCSnowStorm 2.0 is upon us. Could be getting an additional 8-10 today.

So, forgive me while it takes me twice as long to get up to speed here.... And I'll have a few pics from Mexico for you soon, too!  Hope you all are safe and sound from any crazy weather you may be experiencing!

Fashion Crush: Zanna Roberts Rossi

Zanna Roberts Rassi isn't just a fashion icon (to way more than just me), but also a senior fashion editor for Marie Claire. Talk about living the dream. I love her personal style because of the mixture of trendy pops with classic pieces.  These are just some of my favorite looks of hers and here's why:

//Trendy print pants with black top keeps this look on trend AND classic.

//I love a flowy maxi - always pretty, and the added fur texture takes this dark outfit up a notch.

//Navy and Pink are a fabulous combo and those flowy pants are a beautiful twist.

//Pops of Leopard. 'Nough said.

//One of my favs - these neon pants are the wow factor, but not too wild with the rest of the look.

//Classic pant suit with patent leather oxfords (currently on my wish list).

Shoe(s) of the Day: Reinventing the Oxford

Patent leather oxfords are on my wish list right now, and I've been searching high and low for the perfect pair that won't break the bank.  In my searches, I've now seen all sorts of exciting oxfords - ones that are metallic, sequined, neon as well as patent leather. I love the look of menswear reinvented with just the right added touch for girls to rock.

Here are some of my favorites - what do you think about these twists on a classic shoe?
