Hair: From Wild to Straight

I showed you how I tame my wild, frizzy, strangely curly hair into soft, controlled waves, now here is how I get straight hair!  And I did it so much faster than usual, thanks to a brand new hair dryer from HANAair Professional!

To get my hair straight, I start with it wet, right out of the shower!

and so the process to straight hair begins...

1. I first work John Frieda Frizz-Ease Straight Fixation Smoothing Creme through my hair and brush my hair smooth.  I think you're not suppose to brush wet hair, technically, but I do...
2. Then I twist up about 2/3s of my hair on top of my head and first concentrate on the first layer with my brand new HANAair Professional Hair Dryer. The nice people at Missiko sent me this and I'm in love with it.  I usually avoid drying my hair because it takes so long, but this took half the time.
3. I use a round brush to pull my hair straight while I blow dry the bottom section first.  I dry about 2-3 inches of hair at a time.
4.  Once a layer is dry, I put on Bed Head Some Like It Hot Serum (like I use on my wavy hair), then I tie the dry hair back into a low pony tail.  Repeat on the other sections of hair.
5. The last section (top 1/3 layer of hair), I make my part before drying.
6. Once my hair is all dray, I let it all loose and give it one more blow dry with the round brush to mix all the sections together.
7. Once my hair is blown dry, I give it a few minutes and then twist up 2/3s of my hair again to use the straigh iron section by section of hair.
8. I use the straight iron to straighten a bit more and tada, straight hair.

Big thanks to HANAair Professional Hair Dryer for a quick blow out!

xoxo,
Meggy

Turquoise & Cobalt

{Sweater - ASOS; Dress - Anthropologie; Belt - Target; Bag - Theit; Polka Dot Scarf - Banana Republic Outlet; Wedges - Payless}

I love all shades of blue, but two of my favorite colors of all are royal or cobalt blue and turquoise!  Worn with pops of leopard and this might be one of my favorite outfits (besides the bad tights...wish they were more opaque or it was warm enough to go tightless).

What are your favorite colors to wear?

Pretty in Pink

{Stripe tee & blazer - Old Navy; Skirt - ASOS (similar); Wedges - Payless; Watch - gift/Michael Kors}

Oops, forgot to wear lipstick today.  Thus I have no lips. Yikes.  I use to think the one piece of make up I could not leave the house without was mascara (my eyelashes are also non-existent).  I'm now having a hard time deciding between mascara and something (anything!) on my lips.

What is the one cosmetic product you don't leave the house without?

P.S. Please, please vote for me (takes 2 clicks, look for the orange thumbs up to click to vote) today for the Top 25 Fashion/Beauty Mom Blogs over at Circle of Moms.  You can vote daily through the end of Feb! I still have a chance, but not in the top 25 as of now! :(

Thank you <3!

Shoe of the Day - Leopard Wedges

{Kylie Wedge Pump in Leopard from Payless}

I got some new shoes yesterday while out running errands with my little guy. Practical ones and than other ones.  I went out for new running shoes (practical) and also go some other ones.  I don't want to say impractical... Another pair of Leopard shoes I don't need is probably impractical, but the fact that they are WEDGES and CHEAP is a new mom's best friend!

Now that I'm a mom, running dirty diapers up and down the stairs, hauling a car seat in and out of the car, pushing a stroller, trying to move faster to fit more in during baby naps, etc - heels are not once the friend they use to be.  Wedges are perfect for when I'm wanting something with some height.  I wore these out last night to dinner and am happy with the purchase!

Floral and Leopard...
The same leopard dress I wore on Monday, but this time worn as a shirt.

I used this Old Navy leopard sweater dress for Jessica's What I Wore Winter Remix Challenge.
One item worn two ways.

Sleek and Bold.

Happy Valentine's Day from Liam

He's a little concerned about what the expectations are for Valentine's Day. Thankfully, just his cute little self will be his Daddy and my greatest Valentine's Day gift of all.  We're staying in tonight to have a little dinner, a little TV cuddled up on the couch and maybe, just maybe I'll have a full glass of wine!

What are your big Valentine's Day plans?

Happy Valentine's Day to you all! xoxo

Leopard for Days

{Leopard Sweater Dress - Old Navy (similar); Leggings - Vera Wang for Kohls; Booties - Kate Spade; Clutch - ASOS; Bracelet - Loft; Necklace - BaubleBar}

I wear splashes of leopard a lot these days {a la here, and here, and here...ok, I'll stop, but I could go on} so I thought I'd go all out leopard.  Full on.

Did you have a good weekend?  Mine was filled lots of baby cuddles.  Liam is finding it more comfortable to sleep in my arms than in his cradle these days... I love cuddling with him, but problem is, I can't sleep holding him.  I mean, I probably could these sleep deprived days, but it's not safe, right?

Speaking of... Liam is 2 months today.  Time is flying.

For his 2 month bday, will you please please give his mama/this blog a vote for the Circle of Moms Top 25 Fashion & Beauty Mom Blogs??  It is really quick, just head here, scroll down to find Chasing Davies and click thumbs up yo vote!  You can do so daily and I would really appreciate it!
